When some people watch Oprah’s Favorite Things show they daydream and wish that they were there collecting all of that free loot. I mean, have you seen the stuff she hands out… people are literally screaming and crying in the audience…pretty intense.
I watch and think, what are my favorite things. What would I give away to all of my friends if I could give everyone I know duplicates of all of my favorite products?
Well, here is what I would give you all if I could!
I will start with a book, because I love books. This one is a book of activities to do with your children by season. It is called What Shall We Do Today by Catherine Woram. I especially love all of the springtime crafts because they are all things to do with the garden and outdoors. It has 60 projects with great instuctions and pictures. So when you find yourself wondering “what shall we do today” now you have an answer.
I would definately give each and every one of you a trip to Jamaica. My husband and I had such a wonderful time on our honeymoon there. It is beautiful, the people are warm and kind, the sunsets are to die for, and don’t even get me started on the food. You could probably cover anything with the authentic Jerk seasoning and it would be amazing.
People who know me and see me often know that I am always donning a simple silver necklace of some sort. I have a few that I rotate. I love my Tiffany’s silver necklace the best. It is simple and timeless and was given to me by my sweetie…hehe. I am loving the silver key necklaces they have right now. Very simple yet elegant. I love necklaces like this because you can wear them with a tshirt and jeans or with a black evening dress. Simple works in my book. You can see all of thier silver pendants here. This key retails for $275 at Tiffany and Co.
I am not an expert seemstress by any means, but I do love my sewing machine. I find that I stick to easy patterns and simple square items like pillows and curtains, but still saves me money and is fun to use. I think all my mamma friends out there should have one just for fun!
We recently put some new flannel sheets on our bed and I am in love with them. They are cozy and warm. We picked them up at Target and I was a little leary because the set was only $20. I was sure they were going to get rough and scratchy after washing them because that has been my experience with inexpensive sheets in the past. Come to find out, when dealing with flannel, they get softer as you wash them. They are my new fave!
Eckart Tolle books make me smile. I especially love A New Earth and think every human being should read it. He opens up your thinking with out making you feel like you are a horrible person for being, well, human. Great read. Great message. Great. Great. Great.
I am a little obsessed with organization in general, but I especially love document boxes. They can be used for so much. We use ours to organize our bills, coupons, stationary, and other important papers that you have around that need organizing in a stylish way. These can be found at Paper-source.com and are only $14.50!
North Face is the best! I practically live in my Northface Fleece Jacket all fall, summer and spring long. Everyone should have one! They can be ordered at Macy’s for $65.
We recenty started playing Monopoly Streets and it is sooo super fun and addicting. We can all play it together (well except Lucas, but he hangs out with us), which is important for a game. It has great graphics and you can change the rules, like we all do when playing Monopoly. My favorite character is the boat which has a captain who yells “TallyHo” when you start your turn. Super fun! You can buy it on Amazon for $29.
So I wrote about the Merrel Larkspur boots before my birthday, when I was wanting them desperately. I now have them and I love them. They are my go anywhere boots. Seriously, I wore them hiking through the snow in the mountains a week ago and my feet stayed warm and dry. I wear them with skirts, jeans, to the grocery store, over leggings, playing with the kids, really everywhere. You can find them at Piperlime, plus all kinds of other amazing shoes and boots.
Every year we put out Ezra’s Department 56 village. We have the North Pole series. It is so cute and well made. There are so many little details that we love to look at. You can see the series here.
I love Boden! I have a great jacket from there. Yes, another jacket. They have lovely clothing, and jackets. They also carry children’s clothing that are really fun. Everyone should have a Boden jacket too.
Ice cream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Well, I do anyway. I personally love the Birthday Cake Remix from Cold Stone Creamery. It has sprinkles and sprinkles just make me happy.
I have sang the praises of Behr paint and primer in one for months and months now. We used it on so many projects this year. It is amazing.
Balsamic Glaze is a magic worker. You can probably put it on brussel sprouts and it would taste good. (I am going to have to try that) I personally love to drizzle it over a plate of avocado and tomato slices. Or especially over sliced soft mozzerella and tomatos. Mmmmm, I need to eat lunch. Try it… there is no sugar, just a simple balsamic reduction in a jar. Delish!
I am a Burberry girl. It is such a perfect scent. Not too strong. Light and Sweet. I bounce around to different scents. But I always come back to my Burberry.
And because Oprah always includes a car giveaway on her Favorite Things show I thought it fitting that I end with a car on my list also. My husband just got a new truck! Like a week ago! He got a Toyota Tundra. It is amazing. I was just happy that it had a full back seat so that the boys can ride in the truck with him. He had a Toyota Tacoma but it was small and both boys could not ride in it. The Tundra has all kinds of other tricks and toys involved. It has a camera on the back so that when you are backing up you can see the images in the rear view mirror. The tailgate lowers itself slowly once you release the handle. Wireless bluetooth. Built in XM radio (yay, no more wires). It is a really really cool truck. I am so happy he has one.

Okay, Leah. I wish you were a billionaire so I could be a receiptiant of all your favorite things! I would act like the complete grateful, spastic, fan with tears and squeals as you revealed each product. Tell Paul to work on that!
Congrats on your new truck! You guys deserve it!
Cute idea for your blog!
