Easter Basket Ideas

Easter is coming up.

Mr. Easter Bunny always leaves us themed Easter baskets.

Here are some ideas that we have done, and a few that we are contemplating for this year.

Sports Basket- fill basket with balls, baseball glove, golf balls, book about a particular sport or team, water bottle, you could even put in a jersey of thier favorite team.  This football themed basket would be great for a football fan.

Gardening Basket- We did this one a few years ago.  We put in child size gardening tools, gardening gloves, seeds for veggies to plant in our garden, a book about gardening, and the story of Peter Rabbit.  How much would kids love to have this mini farm in thier easter basket just in time for spring?  From Hearthsong.

Recycling/Earth Friendly Basket- We have also done this theme before.  We put in items made from recycled goods, books about recycling, and eco friendly treats.

I love this recycling truck from Green Toys.  You can find it on Amazon.

Art Basket- You can see ours from last year here.  We put in small canvases, finger paints, charcoals, oil pastels, play dough, art books, new paint brushes, and crayons.  This one was a big hit!

I adore these natural crayons shaped like rocks for easy holding.  Find them here.

Ball Basket- Fill the basket with all kinds of balls, bouncy balls, soccer balls, baseballs, light up balls, balls with items inside of them.  I know my boys would love it if the Easter Bunny brought them this fun ball from the Magic Cabin.

Color Themed Basket- How about a basket filled with only items of your childs favorite color.  Blue candies, blue toys, blue books!  How about this blue car.

or one of these cute bird night lights in your color themed basket?

Cooking Basket- Put in a child size apron, cooking tools, premade mixes for pizza crust or cookies, cookie cutters, spatula, hat pad, chef hat, an egg timer.   This Playful Chef Cooking Set would be a wonderful addition to any Easter Basket.

Lego Basket- One option we are thinking about this year.  Fill the basket with various lego products, lego video games (there are a lot of them), lego sets, and lego books.  They even have lego candy.

Beach Basket- this is another option we are thinking about for this year.  You could put in a beach towel, water bottle, a cute new bathing suit, sun screen, new swim goggles, chapstick, beach balls and beach toys.  I adore these swimsuit cover ups from Boden.

Beauty Basket- If we had a little girl.  Fill with boas, necklaces, nail polish, lip gloss, pretty gloves, body wash, a body pouf.  How about some Sparklehearts all natural detangler for girls?

Magic Basket- Fill with fun magic tricks, a magic hat, The Harry Potter Cookbook, Dvd of Harry Potter (if they don’t already have it), or a copy of the book, a magic wand, chocolate frogs, and everything flavored jelly beans.  Melissa and Doug makes and amazing magic kit.

Smarty Pants Basket- Fill with pencils, rulers, crossword puzzles, books, notepads, erasers, stickers and coloring books.  Here is a personalized pencil case from Lillian Vernon.

What kind of fun Easter Baskets are you thinking about?  Any fun new ideas for me?

  1. Wow! There really are a lot of different themes that the Easter Bunny has come up with! If the Easter Bunny knows my Ethan at all, he’d better bring him a Lego Easter Basket. Very cute…thanks for including pictures!
