Those are Some Pretty Balls

I raised our curtain rod a few months ago in order to maximize the light coming through the window.   I read a post on Young House Love about how hanging your rods high and wide creates the illusion of a bigger window and a brighter room.  They were right, they are so smart!

Unfortunately raising the curtain rod gave us this issue.

The 84 inch curtains were too short.  I lived with it for awhile, but it was starting to really bother me.

I thought about adding some fabric to the bottom, but I wasn’t sure that would look quite right.

I gazed at 96 inch curtains online for months… they ranged from $50 per panel to $150 per panel.  Bummer.

I fell head over heels in love with these pretty curtains from Anthropologie.

I mean, what is not to love, white curtains with fun ball fringe.  Totally fun!  But $98 per panel.

Imagine my elation when I was meandering through Target and spotted a pair of plain white 95 inch curtains.  It was too good to be true.  I had looked and looked, this was the first time Target had carried anything longer than an 84 inches.  I did a happy dance all the way  to my car at the price.  $14.99 per panel.  No lie.

I gathered my supplies the next day and commenced with my curtain transformation.  Straight pins, ball fringe, and my simple 95 inch panels.

With in 20 minutes I had pinned the ball fringe down the side and stitched it on.

Voila, cute ball fringe curtains for about $20 per panel.  That is a savings of about $160!  I am so elated with them.  They have only been up for four days and every time I look at them I get really really happy.
