Now that my Spring Cleaning is taken care of (whew, that was a lot of work), I can tackle some organizing projects that are long over due.
The first place I wanted to begin was the kitchen. Things get so out of place in there! Cooking in an unorganized space is enough to drive me batty!
Here is a before of my cupboards.
Ugh. What an unorganized and cluttered mess!
I also had this basket of water bottles, coffee cups and lunch box items that I wanted to somehow incorporate into these cupboards.
Does that seems like an awful lot of stuff to squeeze into those cupboards? I thought so too, but I was hopeful.
Here is the after.
I installed cork shelf liners from Target, it looks just like wood so it is hard to tell, but it leaves a nice clean and solid surface at the bottom of the cupboard.
I also, purged and combined any spices that I had more than one of.
Also from Target are the red organizing trays where I corralled our vitamins and medicines in three categories. For the Boys, For Us, and the third is for Ibuprophen and things that we do not use everyday but that we still want on hand. The system seems to work great since we don’t have medicine cabinets in our bathrooms. Plus the vitamins are handy and easy to remember in the mornings.
Somehow, I made it all fit. Ah, organization, saves so much space!
I also installed a hook for my Norwex Envirocloth. I have been letting it hang dry on one of my door knobs, but it was not the prettiest place for it. Apparently, these cloths must hang to dry or it can ruin them. You can see in the picture below, that it lived on display. I didn’t like that it was always out, but I didn’t know where else to hang it.
My solution was a Command Strip installed on the hidden side of my cupboard, where no one could see it. Perfect!
So there you go, some quick kitchen organization (and way too many pictures of the inside of my cupboards). This entire project only took me 45 minutes, and it was worth every single second!
Have you felt like purging and organizing lately? Spring always does this to me.
