Digging in the Dirt

We spent our Earth Day afternoon planting flowers.  It is a tradition I began when Ezra was 2.  He is 7 now and his little brother Lucas is now 2.   I love that they both will remember many Earth Days planting flowers with their mother.

Some years, if you can believe it, there is still snow on Earth Day here in Colorado.  Not this year… it was bright and sunny!

We decided to plant our flowers in my new window boxes that were built for me by my father in law last fall.  This will be the first year I was able to fill them.

Ezra made sure the plants were placed just right.  (Yes, he is wearing a fishing vest…he thought it was pretty cool.)

I can’t wait to see how these flowers grow and fill in these boxes.  I think it will be darling.

  1. I think the fishing vest should be a pre-requisit for everyone before they plant flowers! Happy Earth Day!
