Living Room

I realized that I have never posted pictures of my living room.

The reason behind this is that it is always covered in toys!  Haha!

I kid, not always, but whenever I do think about taking pictures there always seems to be something going on.  A pile of Skipbo cards on the coffee table, some Wii equipment out after a game, a train set strewn through the walkway, or something of the like.  Ahhh, living with boys is always an adventure.

Therefore our living room is never acceptable for pretty pictures.

So, here you go.  This is our living room.  Good as it gets guys.

We still have some plans for in here.  I am unsure about much of the artwork we have here, but for now it is doing its job inspiring us and making us happy.  The couch is stained, DAMN YOU MICROFIBER!  That is another story all together.

Here is al list of things we still want to do in here:

Frame out ledge where books are (at the arch of the vaulted ceiling)

Paint the ceiling around the ceiling fan with bright white paint- when we switched out the light it left a circle.

Ottoman for the big brown chair in a fun print- ikat, quatrefoil?

Reupholster green chair that was my grandmas-unsure of fabric

New couch?  Preferrably smaller and not microfiber!

Warm it up a bit with more color and texture

More substantial chair for desk area

Art- maybe a diy

Although we love are living room, these pictures will serve as before pictures as we have some fun to have in here.  I will keep you posted with my diy projects along the way.  I am currectly researching a painted rug…eeek.  Ever tried it?

Now you can have a better visual of what our house really looks like, living room and all.

If you are interested in some of the updates I have done since this post check out here and here and here and here.

xoxo

  1. LOVE the green chair next to the TV stand. I would definitely add some art on the walls behind the TV to bring in some more color. (But then again my friend accused me of liking my walls “super full” so feel free to ignore me!) Sarah

  2. I think your living room looks great as is! Can’t really think of what I would change.:)You’ve done a great job at decorating.
