Skipping my “things” post today becuase I am swamped with projects and getting ready for a vacation.
Lucas’ birthday party is coming up. When thinking about favor ideas I came across this post and decided that would be a great favor. I really do not like giving plastic junk for favors. I had been contemplating bath or beach related items, specialty made soaps, bath mits, bath toys. I wanted things perfect for toddlers. These hooded towels seemed like the perfect DIY for this gal. Cute and easy is always a plus.
I set out to make my hooded towels.
Here is how i did it.
All you need is 1 hand towel, 1 bath towel, and a sewing machine.
First you take a hand towel and cut it in half so that you have two even squares.
You will only use one half of your hand towel (use the other half for another hooded towel). Go ahead and set the extra half aside.
Stitch your half of a hand towel to your bath towel. Make sure you have the good sides both pointing the same direction (ei the tags face the same way).
Now, you want to take the two top corners of your hand towel and fold them toward eachother. Again, make sure you are stitching so that the seam will be on the same side as the other seam you just created. Stitch along the top of the hand towel in a straight line.
When you are done it will look like this.
Now you can flip it right side out and it is a simple hooded towel. Easy as that!
Ezra says I should make all of our towels hooded. Hmmm…he may be on to something!

I loved hooded towels when my kids were babies and toddlers. Why do they stop making them for us older kids? Lucas’s party will be so much fun!
