Felt Board

Remember my Things on Thursday post about all the things to do with felt?

I decided to take my own advice and make my Lucas a felt board!

Those of you who follow me on Facebook probably saw it in my little video house tour.  Here is a closer look.

I love the little details!

There are soooo many pieces so that he can pull some off and add others.  This is just a sampling.  I also made a space ship with alien, a windmill, a garden with different veggies to plant in it, and a couple vehicles.   Adorable!

He loves to play with the different animals and move the houses around.

I adore the little camper with the tent and the campfire.

This was a super easy project. All I needed was some large felt which I ordered online, but you could probably find in a fabric store. I used an old canvas art that was in Lucas’ room that we no longer were using and simply attached the felt with a staple gun on the back.  However, you could simply by a board from Home Depot which is what my friend Stephanie did (see her blog here) and adhere the felt to the board.  I bought small sheets of felt for 23 cents a piece to make my houses and shapes. Instead of sewing all my pieces I opted for hot glue and they are holding up great!  Easy is the best way in my book!  All together, I spent under $30 and I have a TON of left over felt that I can use to make other projects (see more felt project ideas here).

I think I might make a travel version of this for car rides or for going to grandma’s house.

xoxo

  2. I love that it is hanging up! Off the floor, easy clean up. My little man would LOVE the camping site. Thanks for some inspiration!

  3. Very cute!!! And you know I love the idea of the hot glue gun as well! I bet that keeps Lucas’ attention for quite awhile. I also love that the options are limitless. Adorable, Leah!
