One of our favorite after school activities is going to the park and feeding the birds that live there. This time of year is the best as they are pretty hungry. Once the snow starts to fall the city feeds them and they don’t act too interested in our bread scraps.
We try to go once every couple weeks. Ezra has his own little spot he likes to stand, so the geese cannot reach him if they get to demanding.
Here are the ducks and geese starting to follow him.
Here they are awaiting bread… me! me! throw it to me!
I don’t dare let Lucas get down around them…he would be swarmed.
“Wait your turn” Ezra is directing the birds. He loves feeding them.
Once they realize the bread is gone it is back to the water. Bye bye birds.
By the way did you notice those pretty Colorado fall colors!
Liz! You just gave me the biggest laugh. I totally forgot about how boy crazy we were back then. Goodness, what heart attacks we must have given out mothers.

It is Riverbottom Park. It has changed quite a bit, but still looks the same over by the duck pond. We love it there, funny from being a child there to a teenager there and then to a mom there at the same park…wierd.
Is this Riverbottom Park? Everytime we go there, I’m scared for the kids’ lives, too!
I love, love, love fall! I don’t remember if there are a lot of reds and oranges in Colorado, but Utah is stunning with those vibrant colors. Thanks for the pictures-it brings back so many memories, even if it’s at a different park.
Do you remember our annual quest of searching for guys up at the cabin every September?
Oh! I was reading in my journal the other day back when we were 13, and I talked about going to the mall with you and Angel. We would go up to random guys and say “I know you”…and just feed off their reactions. We were crazy!
I’m so glad I wrote it down, because I completely forgot about it.
